Journey of Discovery – How to build a massage therapy practice consciously

Understanding who you are as a practitioner helps determine the direction of your practice. The more someone discovers aspects of their individuality, the more unique their practice becomes.

As an RMT, to create longevity in this profession, you need to understand who you are and how you function as an individual in order to grow, develop and evolve your practice in a unique, personalized manner. In this course, you will learn your strengths, interests and individual preferences to help give meaning to your work. We will also discuss why personal healing is important. A short meditation will be introduced to help you connect to self, with love, compassion and understanding which assist with personal growth.

During day 1, the first half of the day is about personal discovery.  The second half of the day is about creating flow for both therapist and client. Creating flow is about harmonizing movement, creating rhythm, so that both therapist and client are in sync. This will be demonstrated at the end of the day and students will have an oportunity to exchange massages.

Day 2 is about the effects of work atmosphere and the importance of client connection. Atmosphere is important because of the way environment affects us emotionally, physically and mentally. Under client connection we will be discussing the importance of building trust, providing quality not quantity service, etc.
